Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola delighted with England midfielder Phil Foden fit returned to the squad for a crucial Champions League trip to Bayern Munich.

Speaking of Foden’s comeback, Pep said: “We are delighted. This is great news for us. He only had one session. But we decided to let him travel with us and will be named as a backup. Definitely not 90 minutes because of his physical condition.

“He’s important not just for tomorrow’s game (Wednesday) but also the tight schedule that awaits us.” 

“I have improved a lot over the years working with Pep and the staff who teach me every day in training. Working with them is the best opportunity to get me as close as possible to being the best player that I can be.”

The 22-year-old winger was a youngster in the club’s youth team before making his first-team debut in 2017. And is now a regular in the squad. As well as already being a member of the senior England national team in this season. He has played nine Premier League games so far.
