Chelsea legend Gustavo Poyet insists his former club can’t make any excuses for the end of the Premier League title race this season.

“My opinion of Chelsea has never changed. I thought at the start of the season that they have to be contenders for the league title.” Gustavo Poyet said.

“When you win the Champions League And then you sign a striker for £90million, that means you have to win the league, it’s that simple.

“We can’t make excuses. We can’t blame the covids, injuries or whatever… Chelsea need to win the title this year. That’s the most important thing, it’s because of Chelsea, they can’t blame anyone.”
